I had just relocated to Wellington from Australia and was keen to get back into exercise after having my second baby. So I Googled ‘bootcamp’ and I found the WOF page. I not only signed up for bootcamp, but was happy to find they did a Mums and Bubs class too, which was perfect!
I was super excited to start bootcamp but also super nervous as I hadn’t exercised in over a year and after having my second child was 23kg heavier. Everyone seemed really nice but also super fit. I must admit I was a little intimidated and after completing my first session I was so close to throwing up I thought there was no way I could keep doing that to myself – what had I got myself into?
Now, 2 months on, I am starting to feel a lot fitter, stronger and healthier. The sessions are still hard, but I don’t feel like I am going to die any more. Best of all, it’s not intimidating any more!
My bright spot at the moment is how proud I am that I didn’t miss a class in the whole 6 weeks of bootcamp and it’s starting to pay off.
I recently finished my transition course and have now started CrossFit classes. I am super excited to be a part of the CrossFit community and can’t wait to start smashing PBs and, of course, shedding these kilos!
Something you might not know about me: I am terrified of cows!
