Anastasia

My journey with fitness started in 2010 when i found Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). All i wanted is  to build up my fitness and let me explore my very competitive side. I found I thrived in the supportive and competitive environment and had my first kickboxing fight in April 2011. In August 2011, I represented New Zealand in an MMA fight in Australia. I have competed in numerous public sparring for kickboxing and MMA.

The confidence and strength I found from MMA led to my passion for training women to become more confident and stronger in themselves and I started up kickboxing fitness classes, a high intensity training program designed to deliver results specifically for women in May 2012, which lead us to opening WOF CrossFit in June 2013.

I love coaching  and helping members  to achieve amazing results through healthier lifestyle and positive mindset.

A good trainer helps you to build a habit you will keep for life. After all, becoming a different person means doing things which you may not be comfortable at first.

Coaching at WOF CrossFit is awesome, for me it’s thrilling to see people exceed their expectations and there perceived limitations, that’s really my driving force, when it comes to coaching.

I deliver a realistic, honest approach to strength and conditioning. I keep it sustainable and goal driven. I provide feedback and I record our progress to make sure we are both on the same page. Literally.

I believe in the value of training having a practical application and training working toward a specific, attainable goal. My clients can take away confidence that the tasks and challenges I dish out, I have tested and found to be beneficial. I won’t make them do something I’m not willing to do/I don’t believe in.

I’ve always been involved in team sports and also coached teams too, so being part of a community-based exercise program makes it easy to love.
The look on peoples faces when they accomplish a goal makes coaching truly rewarding.

I like to deliver a fun and safe environment for members with opportunities to expand skill, strength and cardiovascular levels with realistic steps and progressions.

I believe that foundation movements are extremely important. Mastering any movements at their most basic form Leeds to beautiful and efficient movements with higher levels of skill or heavier weights. I always practice what I preach.

I love coaching because I love helping people exceed their own expectations, go outside of their comfort zones and actually enjoy themselves. There is always room for improvement and I love coaching people to make these small improvements that help in the bigger picture.

I deliver a style of coaching that makes members feel comfortable as well as excited about the class they are in. I try to make the absolute most out of the hour from start to finish, warm up to warm down. I can speak to anyone, adjusting my coaching to suit each different need.

Training wise – consistency is key. It is hard to talk the talk if you’re not walking the walk yourself. As hard as it is to juggle everything in life as well as exercise, persistence and consistency pays off.

My specialty is a Strongman  and i am running specialty courses time to time at WOF CrossFit.

Funny thing we don’t know about me…… hmmmmm … I once played rugby for Ghana in an international match.

    Marama has been part of our WOF CrossFit community for more than four years. With two corporate boxing matches under her belt, she took to the international ring and won a gold medal at the Pan Pacific Masters games. Marama’s boxfit classes focus on fun, fitness and technique – she is excited to share her passion for boxing with you.

    I like helping people realize their potential and feel empowered. Coaching I get the help people everyday doing things they didn’t think were possible

    I will give clients my 100% effort in helping them achieve their goals. I will listen, evaluate and come up with an honest plan to help them achieve their goals.

    Working hard and being realistic. You’re going to get out of your training what you put in. Being honest with yourself and realizing some days will suck but doing it anyway, always striving for improvement.

    I find helping people achieve their goals very rewarding, whether it be achieving their first full push up to running 1km unbroken, any little achievement should be recognized and praised.

    To me it doesn’t matter what goal someone may have, I am always willing to help and guide them through to make sure it happens.

    If someone wants help to lose weight, tone up, get stronger or even exercise for their mental health I am here to help.

    I started on my CrossFit journey in 2016 and remember one push being a real challenge. During my journey I have really came to understand how a small improvement’s over time can reap such amazing results.

    As a coach, I have the opportunity to pass on this to others. I really enjoy seeing how people can accomplish what they thought was out of reach and being in a position to help them realise their potential, each small step, becomes a great stride in their well-being and confidence.

    Everyone is different, and with their own challenges, I strive to help everyone fulfill the journey they are on.

    In my early years I trained in competitive gymnastics at the national level; from this I developed a strong passion for gymnastics and competitive sports. Fast forward 20 years post children, I trained in swimming, running, biking, and lifting with the ultimate goal to improve my triathlon and iron-man times. Late 2015 I found CrossFit and moved away from training for solo sports to training with a community of athletes from all walks of life. From the just starting out athlete to the masters level athlete, I found a passion for working with and around others to achieve goals and push limits. From working in the health industry for over 10 years, I have seen the impact that regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle can have on long term health outcomes. I have a keen interest for mobility and am a qualified Yin yoga instructor. Helping people, no matter their fitness level has become my passion; sharing the benefits of moving well where and whenever I can. I believe in goal oriented training, consistency, good movement patterns, hard work, and fun. From mobility to weight lifting, I strive to improve the well-being of myself and those around me.

    I’ve been a part of WOF CrossFit since 2016, trained long distance running prior, and started weight training in my late teenage years. I’m absolutely focused on safe and effective movement patterns that feed into outcome driven goals. Over the years I’ve developed a passion for exercise,nutrition, achieving my goals, and pushing passed my limits whatever they may be.

    In addition to my passion for fitness, I’m very passionate about sharing fitness with those around me. Seeing others set and achieve their goals, push past their limits, and develop health and wellbeing centered lifestyles drives me to keep growing and sharing. Helping our community grow provides huge incentive and great reward.

    I believe in outcome driven training, working toward goals in safe incremental leaps, enjoyment in training, and high reward from hard work.
