Frequently Asked Questions
“Do you offer discounts if my partner and I both sign up?”
We believe in being fair and charging everyone the same rate. Everyone receives the same level and quality of coaching. I’m not going to stick you in the 20% less corner and come see you or instruct you less than everyone else.
Are the chances of injury higher if I do CrossFit rather than normal exercise?
There’s always a risk of injury with anything you do in life. To limit the risk of injury we ensure a good warmup and cool down are included in the classes and our coaches will ensure you’re doing the correct form.
Am I fit enough to do CrossFit?
We cater for ALL levels of fitness at WOF CrossFit. You don’t need to be an athlete to come to classes. Exercises can be scaled and modified to suit any individual no matter your age, shape, experience or size.
Who has benefited from CrossFit?
A HUGE range of people have benefited from CrossFit – from professional athletes to the sedentary, overweight or elderly and everyone in between. Anyone can benefit and change their lives for the better by introducing CrossFit into their lives.
What does WOD mean?
Workout of the Day – this is the exercise programme we have scheduled for the class on a given day. You will hear the term WOD a lot!
What does AMRAP mean?
AMRAP stands for As Many Rounds (or Reps) As Possible. There could be a workout that is set for say 20 minutes and you have to complete as many of those exercises in that set period of time.
Can I just start a class without doing the Prep Course?
Yes and no. For our CrossFit Lite, Mums and Bubs, and Bootcamp classes you do not need the Prep Course. However, you must do our Prep Course before starting to do the CrossFit classes. This helps you to learn the basics of Olympic lifting and Powerlifting movements that we use, and gives the coaches an idea of where you are at and if there are any strengths or weaknesses we should be aware of. It also helps YOU with the basics and safety aspects so you are less likely to get injuries.
How many people are in the classes?
Classes are usually capped at 15 – 16people. This will ensure you get the right coach to member ratio and the personal attention that our members love.
Do I need to book for classes?
We have an online booking system so you can secure a position in the class you want ahead of time.
How many times a week should I do a CrossFit class?
The recommended minimum amount of times you should train is 3 times a week to really benefit physically. 5 times a week is ideal for more experienced athletes.
What are your membership fees?
See our membership page for details.
Do classes still run during public holidays?
Our usual timetable changes over public holidays. We try to ensure that everyone can still get a workout in though, and often offer one class on the day that is open for members to attend.
